Ambode Declares Total War Against Kidnapping, Okays Death Penalty For Offenders

It’s difficult to recall a time when we didn’t have Wizkid because he’s been explosive since he first hit the music scene in 2010.
His music career has included some extremely high points from his debut album ‘Superstar’ to his first Grammy Award nomination for his feature on Drake’s One Dance. The track, which also features Kyla, is off Drake’s album “Views” which is also in the run for “Album of the year” category at the 59th Grammy Awards, competing against other award winning artistes like Adele, Beyonce, and Justin Bieber.

From Star Boy to Style Boy
Wizkid or Star boy has not only become a force to reckon with on the international music scene, he has also become a style icon to us back home. His style over the years has landed him some fashion perks. From clean lines and minimalism to vintage silk prints, it is no surprise that Vogue dubbed him Nigeria’s Best Dressed Pop Star.
In anticipation of what he will bring us on the red carpet this weekend at the Grammy’s, here is a brief roundup of Wizkid’s style evolution
2010: It was cool to be a geek when he first popped up, so we’ll forgive him for this
2011: Plaid shirts, skinny ties; it is doubtful that anyone really did ‘holla at your boy’ as he implored.
2012: Snapbacks became a thing, as did dark frame sunglasses (even indoors). Wizkid brought that to cool.
2013: A drastic change came about after hit single Ojuelegba scored a massive smash and brought him international recognition. He became more stylish than he was trendy.
2014: Bling, bling and more bling. Wizkid was all about the monotone with a dash of sparkle to really tell us he is indeed a star boy!
2015: Matchy matchy. Wizkid’s sonic co-ords reflected in his wardrobe with his penchant for two pieces.
2016: Silk scarves and Versace vision. Wizkid was all about the vintage look with silk prints and old school style sunglasses. Word on road is that he’s dating Justine Skye, but we don’t know it!
We’re excited to see what he will wear at this year’s Grammy Awards. We are certain that his friendship with stylist Ugo Mozie will come through and he will take the red carpet by storm. Watch him and your favorite music superstars as they walk the red carpet for the 59th Grammy Awards on E! Live from the Red Carpet (DStv channel 124) on Monday, 13 February at midnight. Then switch over to VUZU AMP (DStv channel 103) for the live show at 2am with a repeat broadcast on Sunday, 19 February at 5pm.
