Watch Your Mouth - APC Warns Okorocha ⋆

Image
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has warned Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha against further spurious allegations against the party and its national chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun.             Okorocha, who is the Chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum, had accused Oyegun of disobeying a court order on the state APC Congress and swearing in of new state executives in Imo. He vowed to send the party’s national chairman to “jail” over the alleged disobedience to court order. But in a statement through the National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the party said it did not receive any court judgment regarding the congresses and therefore could not have disobeyed one. The statement read, “In reacting to recent allegations by the Imo State governor that Oyegun ‘disobeyed’ court orders regarding congresses in Imo State and inauguration of the state’s party executives, the APC wishes to state that these allegations are spurious as the party did not

Killer herdsmen: Group warns South West against complacency

Image
THE Yoruba Koya Group has warned the people of the South West to guide against complacency in the wake of the increasing incursion and killings in the zone, allegedly being perpetrated by some people suspected to be Fulani herdsmen.              Co-founder of the group, Otunba Deji Osibogun, gave the warning while speaking with Saturday Tribune against the backdrop of the call by the Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali, on Wednesday, for the suspension of the anti-open grazing law on the ground that it was causing tension across the country. Describing the call by the minister as unfortunate and uncalled for, Osibogun said it was wrong for anybody to want to forcefully and illegally ply his trade in any part of the country, especially in the South West, adding that extension farming, including grazing, should be done legally. “The statement credited to the Minister of Defence is worrisome. Saying that the anti-open grazing law should be suspended is uncalled for. You cannot put g

Arresting Obasanjo Will Be The End Of Buhari – Ex Governor

A former Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuemeka Ezeife has warned against alleged plans by President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration to frame-up former President, Olusegun Obasanjo. TheThird Republic governor of Anambra State, warned last night that framing ex-President Obasanjo would turn out to be a final bus stop for the President Buhari-led All Progressives Congress (APC), government.         Ezeife in a statement on Friday, said Buhari’s attempt to pull down Obasanjo will fail. Affirming that the administration had succeeded in pulling the Igbo down and that the same attempt would fail against Obasanjo, Ezeife warned: “Buhari will not, should not and cannot harass former President Obasanjo for his political position. There are boundaries to everything we do in life, there are boundaries.” On what could happen if Obasanjo is arrested, he said, “It means that the system has completely broken down. They were doing it to Igbo people. Pull Igbo down. They started with Ibeto, the

2019 ELections: Buhari and TY Danjuma Clash again (DETAILS)

Image
As the dust raised by former Defence Minister, Gen. T.Y Danjuma over his charge to Nigerians to rise up and defend themselves against killer herdsmen is yet to settle, the retired Army General turned billionaire businessman is causing yet another discomfort for the administration of his bosom friend, President Muhammadu Buhari, this time in far away United States of America, where he is alleged to have led Taraba state governor, Darius Ishaku and others in meetings with policy think-tank members of the Trump administration and influential lawmakers on herdsmen killings in Nigeria. Presidential sources told Saturday Sun that the activities of a group, International Committee on Nigeria, headed by Danjuma have begun to impact negatively on the Buhari administration in the U.S, with fears that such may ultimately hamper the sale of military equipment to Nigeria by the Trump administration. Aside Danjuma and Governor Ishaku, the sources further alleged that a recent meeting held by the

PDP reacts to Obasanjo’s claim of Buhari plotting to kill him

Image
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reacted to the revelation of former President Olusegun Obasanjo that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government was plotting to harm him.                   Obasanjo had claimed that Buhari was planning to frame him and consequently kill him. The former President, in a statement by his media aide, Kehinde Akinyemi, on Friday said the Buhari-led administration intends to use fake documents and witnesses against him. He alleged that he has been informed that his name has been included in the government’s “watch-list”, and that the security of his life can no longer be guaranteed. Reacting, however, PDP said the revelation coming from a Nigerian of Chief Obasanjo “status is terrifying as it has heightened the tension in the polity and confirmed our fears that our dear nation has descended into a police state where any Nigerian, who holds a divergent view to President Muhammodu Buhari 2019 re-election bid, becomes endangered.” A sta

Lai Mohammed Disobeyed me by replying Obasanjo – Buhari

Image
President Muhammadu Buhari says he stopped his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity Femi Adesina from replying former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s letter against his administration because of Adesina’s age. The president explained the reasons when members of Buhari Support Organisation visited him at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Friday night. Buhari explained further that the second reason why he deemed right not to reply the letter was that he and the former president were from the same (military) constituency. He, however, noted that Minister of Information and Culture Lai Mohammed, who “disobeyed’’ him not to reply the letter, did a good job. He observed that the reply by the minister showed Nigerians the realities on ground when the present administration assumed office in 2015 and its ongoing efforts to revive the inherited damaged economy. “I really appreciate how you choose this time during Ramadan to come from across the country to see and congratulate me for

June 12 declaration: Buhari shouldn’t think Yorubas are fools – Ayo Adebanjo, Afenifere Chieftain

Image
Elder statesman and chieftain of Afenifere, a Yoruba socio-cultural group, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, in this interview accuses President Muhammadu Buhari of using his recent declaration on June 12 as a political gimmick ahead of 2019 presidential electio What do you think about President Muhammadu Buhari’s declaration that June 12 will henceforth replace May 29 as Nigeria’s Democracy Day in honour of the late Chief Moshood Abiola and conferment of the award of Grand Commander of the Federal Republic on him? I am not excited about it; but it is better late than never. It is welcome; however, it is late and belated. I’m one of those who have always believed that when the people’s government gets into office, that day will be declared. But if he (Buhari) has now done it because the presidential election is coming, well, he cannot bamboozle anybody with that. What we are saying is that if he wants to honour the memory of Abiola and June 12, he should implement what June 12 stands for, which

Niger Delta youths agitating, don’t say we didn’t warn you – Clark tells Buhari

Image
Convener of the Pan Niger Delta Forum, Chief Edwin Clark, has told the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government that “the patience of the youths and other critical stakeholders in the region is waning”.                  He warned the administration not to take the patience and patriotism of the people of the region for granted. Speaking in his Kiagbodo country home in Delta State, the elder statesman also lamented that jobs opening in the oil industry have been skewed in favour of the North. Clark said, “I want to remind you all, that our (PANDEF) intervention in the direction of peace and security has continued to help the national economy and contributed substantially to its exit out of recession. “From a drop in oil production to 800,000 barrels per day in 2016, today NNPC is producing over 2.3 million barrels a day, a fourfold increase. “The 16-point agenda which we submitted to Mr President has yet to be properly addressed. The only tangible item that has been attended

Obasanjo raises alarm, accuses Buhari of plotting his arrest on false charges

Image
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has accused the Buhari administration of plotting to slam false charges on him, to pave the way for his indefinite detention.                 The former leader said the government was planning to use fake documents and witnesses against him. Mr Obasanjo said this in a statement by his media aide, Kehinde Akinyemi, on Friday. The claim is the latest twist after weeks of bitter exchanges between the two leaders, who fell apart after Mr Obasanjo accused Mr Buhari or ineptitude and corruption, and advised him not to seek reelection. Mr Buhari responded recently by accusing his predecessor of frittering away $16 billion on phoney electricity projects. Mr Obasanjo hit back at the “ignorant” claim. Speaking via his aide on Friday, the former president said plans to silence him were in two fold, among which is a plot to cause the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to reopen investigation into the activities of his administration. He said t
