A governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Uche Onyeaguocha, yesterday alleged that primary intension of Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, is to destroy the source of livelihood of the people, under the guise of urban renewal. The former member of the House of Representatives, condemned alleged continuous onslaught on the people and accused Okorocha of using thugs from Ohaji/Egbema to attack traders and destroy their wares. He said Imo has been turned into a jungle where rascality and use of brutal force have become the grand norm, stressing that the present administration whose constitutional mandate, he said, is to protect life and property of its citizens, has, “unfortunately, declared war on the people. “It has, also, been noticed that the primary intention of Governor Rochas Okorocha has always been to destroy people’s means of livelihood, at a period when parents are expected to pay their children’s

While telling his colleagues that “people are dying” in the country as a result of continued violence, the senator lamented that “the leadership we are providing is total failure”. “Let it be on record that the way we have conducted ourselves, it is guaranteed that democracy will not survive,” he said. He added that “the tension

News Politics Buhari’s declaration puts Obasanjo, Falae in panic mode

Image
SDP’s chairman Olu Falae and former President Olusegun Obasanjo are billed to meet in Abeokuta on Tuesday to firm up plans to unseat President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019. Sources close to the former presidential candidate and Obasanjo have confirmed the meeting which might have been prompted by Buhari’s declaration last week for a second term. The former president had advised Buhari to consider an honourable dismount in 2019, criticising him and his government openly for nepotism and bad management of the economy. But Buhari has refused to back down. His refusal has made Obasanjo seek an ally in the former SGF who contested against him in 1999, and had been critical of his eight-year government until the conspiracy against Buhari united them. As part of the efforts to unseat the president, Obasanjo floated the Coalition of Nigeria Movement, a non-partisan group he said will produce a third force to wrest power from the APC and PDP he described as leprous. Apparently, Falae’s SDP has

The prophet maintained that Buhari will be disgraced like former president Goodluck Jonathan if he goes ahead to contest the 2019 elections. Not yet done with Tinubu, the cleric called on him to be mindful of his health and be more prayerful for his children so as to avert “another tragic occurrence on any of them”. Okoroafor said to The Sun, “If President Muhammadu Buhari declares for a second term or not, it is not our concern, our major concern is Biafra. Elections in Nigeria are baseless and flawed, MASSOB do not have interest in Nigerian politics. However, we are not going to disrupt the 2019 elections.” He lamented the bloodletting ongoing across the nation, adding that it would be worse during the elections. Okoroafor therefore called on Igbos not to participate in t
