Buhari told to sack, prosecute Works Minister, Fashola over failed roads, Mambilla Power project

Image
A Chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Garus Gololo, has bemoaned the failed road and Mambilla power projects despite gulping a humongous amount of N1.2 trillion in the last five years of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.   Gololo’s reaction in a statement sent to DAILY POST on Friday in Abuja, followed a recent revelation that the amount was invested through Power Ministry during Babatunde Fashola’s time in road, and building peojects of the Mambila Hydro Electricity Dam, which both projects have failed woefully in Taraba State.   The APC Chieftain called on President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately sack the Minister of Works and hand him over to the anti-graft agency for prosecution, given that he failed to justify the fund disbursed to his ministry as the Minister of Works and Power. President Buhari was further called to direct the auditing of funds disbursed to ministries under the Minister from 2016 to 2020, viz: N260.08bn in 2016, N107.38bn in 2017

Someone was kidnapped and kept in the custody of the DSS and the killings were going in and somebody woke up one morning to say that Nnamd Kanu ordered the killings and attack on the police stations in the South East,’’ queried the former governor. Ohaneze Ndigbo National Vice President, Chief Dennis Okeke, said that the federal government has no case against Kanu, noting that it has become clear that they just want to give a dog a bad name in order to hang it.   We bring the news to you as it comes.....

NIN-SIM Card linkage: We must get tough

Image
GETTING Nigerians to register for anything is usually an uphill task for all involved. Whether it is registration of voters, getting vaccinated against COVID-19, population census, or registering Subscriber Identity Module, SIM, Cards, the experience is the same. The citizens often have to be threatened with punitive deadlines before they respond at the last minute. The nightmarish experience in getting the people to register for the linkage of their National Identity Numbers, NIN, and SIM Cards is very typical. With a few days to the October 31, 2021 deadline for the linkage of all SIM Cards to NINs, we are far from achieving total coverage. As of the beginning of this month, the National Identity Management Commission, NIMC, said it had identified 143 million out of the 207 million registered SIM Cards across all telecom networks with NINs. With Nigerians possessing average of three to four SIM cards on their mobile devices, these SIM Cards are now linked to about 60 million NINs. Wh
