The Former President of Nigeria,Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has challenged President Muhammadu Buhari to prbe him and his activities while stile in power. In  a statement, Obasanjo said those who were using probes as threats should remember that he had been probed four times by the EFCC, the ICPC, the House of Representatives and the Senate. Obasanjo stated, “Buhari has access to reports of these probes. But I have also challenged Buhari and the criminals around him to set up a probe on the same allegations and I will face such a probe in public. But I know that these criminals cannot withstand a police inquiry let alone clinical probe on the past public offices they held.  My fervent prayer is that President Buhari may live to see the will and purpose of God for Nigeria.” He, however, commended the President for yielding to popular outcry “to let the former Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, go.” On electoral violence, Obasanjo recommended stiffer punishments such as

PDP alleged that the APC governorship candidate, who is also personally well reputed for acts that contravene free and fair elections, has been boasting that he has the backing of the federal government and some godfathers in Abuja, who have no stake in the peace, unity and development of Taraba State in this ignoble project. According to the spokesman of PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan, “It is an incontrovertible fact, known to all, that Taraba State is a long established stronghold of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and that Governor Darius Ishaku has the undiluted backing of overwhelming majority of the electorate across the state, due to his sterling performance in office.”

Okorocha’s suspension shows we mean business- APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said that it should be appreciated that as a party it could query a governor and recommend him for suspension. The National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, stated this on Sunday in response to the suspension of Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, by the state chapter of the party. While noting that the suspension of the governor showed that the party meant business, Issa-Onilu however said that the National Working Committee (NWC) will consider the recommendation for the governor’s suspension. Imo APC Caretaker Committee had recently recommended Okorocha for suspension from the ruling APC over alleged anti-party activities. Outgoing Governor Okorocha, and an APC senatorial candidate for Imo West, is said to be working to have his son-in-law and governorship candidate of the Action Alliance, Uche Nwosu, as his successor. He was said to have vowed to ensure the APC governorship candidate, Senator Hope Uzodinma, los

We Are With APC In Spirit But We Have To Support Atiku, Says Okorocha’s Party

Although Okorocha says his son in-law remains APC in spirit, he, however, maintains that Mr. Nwosu must succeed him as Governor of the state even though he is in AA. Meanwhile, the AA has insisted that it recognizes no other but Atiku/Obi for president and running mate. He said the only link Okorocha has with the party is that his son in-law is contesting under the party. Governor Okorocha formed the AA in 2005 after he was unable to secure a presidential tickets in the PDP and APGA years back. Recall that in the run-up to the 2019 election, Okorocha’s son in-law, Uche Nwosu, defected from the APC to the AA after he was denied governorship ticket in APC. Despite his defection, Governor Okorocha has not relented to seize any opportunity to campaign for his son in-law. The party made its position known on Monday in a statement by its national, Kenneth Udeze.
