I’m not worried about call to declare my seat vacant – Godswill Akpabio

Image
Godswill Akpabio, former senate minority leader, says he is not perturbed by the call to declare his seat vacant. Akpabio is representing Akwa Ibom north-west in the upper legislative chamber. On Sunday, the Reformed All Progressives Congress (R-APC) asked Senate President Bukola Saraki to declare Akpabio’s seat following his defection to the ruling party from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). But speaking with journalists at the national assembly on Monday, Akpabio dismissed the R-APC saying the group was not a political party. “Even as you are looking at me, do I look perturbed? I have not heard the report. Because the reason why I think that is a rumour is that there is, at the moment, no division in the APC,” he said. “The APC is one family. If you hear about R-APC that was not really a political party that was not a division, has since been consumed in what they call Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP). So, there is no division. And so, any defection from APC to

7 COMMON (BUT POTENTIALLY COSTLY) MISTAKES MOST MARRIED WOMEN MAKE

Image
A good woman is a blessing to her husband and family, and a bad woman can be the very termite that eats down her own home. I know that in a marriage, there is bound to be problems and disagreements, and sometimes, it’s not the woman’s fault because men also err too, however, today I’ll be looking towards the woman’s direction. There are dozens of women out there, who engage in activities that are potentially harmful to their marriages without knowing it. Sometimes, their actions are influenced by the things they hear from friends, other times it’s the larger society, or the sort of upbringing they were given as children— so they’re not really aware of the implications of their actions and what damage it could cause to their homes. Marriages have been broken for some of these mistakes, so I thought I’d talk about them, and maybe save a few more from going down the same route. Here are 7 of the common (but potentially costly) mistakes married women make. 1. FAILURE TO FULLY ACCEP

7 Things You Must Not Tell Your Partner About You

Image
Somethings are truly better left unsaid and here are 7 times when it's OK to not be open with your partner if you don't feel like it Of course every relationship should be built on trust but there is a limit to openness and there exist things that your partner does not really need to know about. So in essence, it’s OK to cut down on openness in a relationship from 100% to somewhere in the region of 90% or so. And here’s the reason: some people really just can’t handle the truth. It does not make them a bad person or bad partners. So instead of risking something beautiful over an inconsequential detail that’ll very likely not hurt anyone, just be mum and coast with the love of your life. Somethings are truly better left unsaid and here are 7 times when it’s OK to not be open with your partner if you don’t feel like it 1. Your S*xual History For real, not many boyfriends/girlfriends want to hear the step by step narration and graphic details of how you had s*x in a bat

Image

Okorocha spoke while fielding questions from newsmen on Sunday after a press briefing at the Government House , Owerri . He stated that it would be a foolish thought for any Igbo man eyeing the presidency at any time to think that the Igbo only would make him president . He , however , contended that any Igbo man wanting or aspiring to achieve the feat of being the president one day cannot r

Osinbajo accusing pastors of failing to preach against corruption

Image
Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has berated gospel preachers for failing to lend support to the Federal Government’s anti-corruption war by failing to preach against the scourge. Speaking at the 30th National Biennial Conference of the Students Christian Movement of Nigeria holding in Enugu, Mr Osinbajo noted that preachers were preoccupied with preaching prosperity rather than righteousness. “Very rarely do you hear our preachers talk about corruption from their pulpits. If a nation is not righteous nothing will help it,” he said. Mr Osinbajo said the problem with Nigeria was neither ethnicity nor religion but systemic corruption. He said corruption had been so entrenched in the country that if you dare challenge it, you will be in the minority. He challenged the youth to change the narrative and make the difference by checking the impunity of those that had stolen the resources of the country. “Our problem in this country is not ethnicity or religion; it is not about Christian
