Okorocha to demolish Eke-Ukwu Owerri market

Imo State Governor,Rochas Okorocha has finally made up his mind to re­locate the age-long Eke - Ukwu Owerri market after several warnings he issued to the traders in the market failed.
Governor Okorocha who appeared angry while addressing the traders at the Government House at about 6 pm yesterday gave them four hours to remove their belongings ,warning that he may venture into the market with his bull­dozer before 3 am on Fri­day .
According to governor Okorocha,”I have given you people three years to relocate to à place I have allocated to you,yet you, refused.Now I am giving you three hours to go and remove your things ,I may descend there by 3 am or before that time”
Governor Okorocha’s short speech left many of the traders who thought the meeting would be a fruitful one,as all of them dispersed in anger and in confusion.
One of the traders who spoke to The Authority un­der anonymity expressed surprise at the gover-nor’s action noting that his sud­den warning has placed him at cross-roads .
“How can he just give us this night to remove our things, we were all excited when we were heading to the meeting not knowing what it would turn out like that. Now I am confused,I don’t know the next thing to do “.
