If Boko Haram Has Been Defeated, Then There Is No Need For $1BN ECF- Fayose
Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose has responded to an announcement by the Nigerian armed force that Boko Haram has been vanquished.
Fayose said there was no compelling reason to support $1bn (N370bn) from the Excess Crude Account for anti-insurgency fight following the defeat.
It could be recalled that the Theater Commander, Operation Lafiya Dole,Maj.- Gen. Rogers Nicholas announced on Sunday that the Nigerian Army has totally vanquished the Boko Haram.
He unveiled that many had surrendered and a few others fled their enclave while more than 100 regular people were safeguarded.
Reacting to the claim, Fayose on his official twitter page expressed:
“Now that the Military authorities have revealed that the army has completely defeated Boko Haram insurgents in the country, is there still any need for anyone to canvass argument in support of the FG plan to spend $1bn (N370bn) from the Excess Crude Account?”
