DAILY DEVOTION AND PRAYE
Live Loved
“Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”[Matthew 6:34]Face Challenges in StagesAn accomplished Ironman triathlete told me the secret of his success. “You last the long race by running short ones.” Don’t swim 2.4 miles; just swim to the next buoy. Rather than bike 112 miles, ride 10, take a break, and bike 10 more. Never tackle more than the challenge ahead.Didn’t Jesus offer the same counsel? “So don’t ever worry about tomorrow. After all, tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34 God’s Word). When asked how he managed to write so many books, Joel Henderson explained that he’d never written a book. All he did was write one page a day.Face challenges in stages. You can’t control your temper forever, but you can control it for the next hour. Earning a college degree can seem impossible, but studying one semester is manageable, and logging in one good week is doable. You last the long race by running the short ones.[Every Day Deserves a Chance]Lord, you taught us how to face our challenges when you told us to live one day at a time. Each day brings its own perplexing problems. You remind us that we don’t need to borrow worry from tomorrow. Help us to face daily demands each day by living in your love moment by moment and hour by hour. You have promised to be with us and to lead and guide us. We take each step of life and breathe each breath of life under your watchful care. Forgive us when we fret about the future. Help us to rest continually in you, amen.In Your hand is power and might; in Your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all.1 Chronicles 29:12Let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were also called in one body; and be thankful.Colossians 3:15I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies.2 Samuel 22:4~ Max Lucado ~
Evening Devotional
Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. [John 14:1]Heart troubles can be the worst. Hurts happen. Are you doing what you can to be troubled free? If you don't take the time to deal with those hurts and root them out, they will prevent you from being a whole, healthy person. How can you tell if your heart is troubled? Look at your emotional reactions and figure out the reasons behind your reactions. Then trust.

AFTERNOON PRAYER
“When you are harvesting your crops and forget to bring in a bundle of grain from your field, don’t go back to get it. Leave it for the foreigners, the orphans, and widows. Then the Lord your God will bless you in all you do."
[Deuteronomy 24:19]
Father God,
Today, let me remember the broken, the battered and the bruised. There was once a time when I too was struck down by life, or in need of a helping hand, and someone came to my aid. Help me to remember that just because I am up today, does not mean I will not fall down tomorrow.
Amen
Jesus Calling |
I AM THE PRINCE OF PEACE. As I said to My disciples, I say also to you: Peace be with you. Since I am your constant Companion, My Peace is steadfastly with you. When you keep your focus on Me, you experience both My Presence and My Peace. Worship Me as King of kings, Lord of lords, and Prince of Peace. You need My Peace each moment to accomplish My purposes in your life. Sometimes you are tempted to take shortcuts in order to reach your goal as quickly as possible. But if the shortcut requires turning your back on My peaceful Presence, you must choose the longer route. Walk with Me along paths of Peace; enjoy the journey in My Presence.[ISAIAH 9:6; JOHN 20:19–21; PSALM 25:4]
