Obasanjo revealed, 1966 coup are not Igbo coup
Obasanjo open up on the 1966 coup and revealed those involved. Below are the people involved in the so called 1966 “Igbo coup”.

Reasons why it’s called Igbo coup
The reason for calling 1966 coup “igbo exercise” is because the government refused to educate Nigerians history in the various schools all around the country and those in the northern Nigeria get busy misinforming Nigerians that the 1966 coup is igbo coup.

1. Nnamdi Azikiwe defeated Awolowo to become the first Nigeria premier of western Nigeria presently South West plus Edo and Delta State.
Awolowo instead of forming opposition, formed Egbe Omo Yoruba and use it to intimidate that won election on NCNC platform to cross carpet and join him against Nnamdi Azikiwe.
That was the first parliamentary coup in Nigeria.
It doesn’t end on that, he (Awolowo) started indoctrination of Yorubas against threat of Igbo domination.
That was how the incurable seed of fear of igbos was sown in the heart of yorubas which they later distribute to other regions through Yoruba control of social media for decades.
Alhaji Tafawa Balewa, The Nigeria first Prime Minister seen the treacherous and innate ordination and Hunger of Awolowo to acquire political power by all means, Alhaji Tafawa Balewa couldn’t tolerate it anymore and he threw Awolowo to prison for treason.
Samuel Ladoke Akintola who replaced Awolowo as premier of western Nigeria put effort to annul Awolowo’s political ambition in Yoruba land by forming a party to take over western Nigeria in alliance with Housa/Fulani oligarchy who Awolowo have offended with his political push.
Consequently, Yoruba land went ablaze in revolt against Akintola plot, law and order completely broke down in western Nigeria.
Wole Soyinka wore a mask and forced announcers at western Nigeria broadcasting corporation to announce that Akintola government was a fraud thereby let him evacuate the office.
After the announcement, Alhaji Tafawa Balewa pay deaf ears and refuse to declare state of emergency in western Nigeria in order to keep Akintola as a proxy for Hausa/Fulani interest.
That was vividly the main reason why Yoruba graduates in the Army were the brains behind the coup led by Major General Chukwuma Nzeogwu who was an Igbo.
As Wole Soyinka and Obasanjo acknowledged Major Nzeogwu’s was widely accepted by majority of Nigerians across regional, religious and ethnic divides, Hausa/Filani oligarchy who had majority in Nigeria Army was dissatisfied and deploy there teams Led by Yakubu Gowon, Theophilus Danjuma among others to dethrone General Aguiyi Ironsi.
Knowing fully well that Yorubas will oppose the decision, they released Awolowo from prison which trigger there support and the Hausa/Fulani knew Awolowo fear for Igbo as the group that stood against his ambition for power.
Gowon quickly made a deal with Awolowo which in effect was that power would rotate between the North and the West (Yorubas and Hausa/Fulani) in post War Nigeria if Awolowo would be able to convince yorubas to join the North in fighting Igbos.
Nigeria Army was split into two divisions;
A. The Northern sector division commanded by Hausa/Fulani.
B. The Southern sector division commanded by yorubas squeezing the Igbos to compression as they wasn’t in power in any side.
Lagos, city build and develop mainly by Igbos and was invested heavily by igbos was also Ceded to Yorubas as a state even when there was no Abuja at the time of 1967.
Awolowo was made vice chairman of Federal Executive Council and Financial Minister, all Federal government owned Banks in Nigeria at the time including the Central Bank and First Bank were under Awolowo and Yoruba management. It was a deal that Awolowo couldn’t resist.

Awolowo then tried to ensure no Igbo Man or Woman would ever be more than financial destitute let alone have the financial power to rival Yorubas.

He instructed Yoruba permanent secretaries who took over the Federal Civil service when Igbos left as the war hits Up and ordered no Igbo senior Civil service be reinstated but to rather retire those who could not be retired as a rebels.
Same policy was obtained in the armed forces and Nigeria police, the igbos were made to pass through financial destitutes.
All houses and industries in igbo cities was destroyed during the War, schools closed for three years.
They rejoice on Awolowo masterminded the indigenization policy by which yorubas bought over all companies in Nigeria using money striped from igbos from there bank account under there control.
The shooting war ended over 51 years ago yet the country is still where it is till date, igbos survive all that was imposed on them by Yoruba masterminds which was executed by their Hausa, Fulani allies.
In frustration, they have realized that we are indestructible both financially and otherwise, yes Federal government policy made them the tycoons of oil and gas from our region, telecommunications, insurance and manufacturing and their Hausa, Fulani cum military allies gave Nigeria to Obasanjo for 8 years in keeping faith with their alliance.
After the twist of what happened during the coup which eventually leads to War.
The people in Southern region of Nigeria which comprises South East and South South after been marginalized despite there effort to ensure equality.
Mostly igbos who experienced all the above injustices meted against them concluded that Biafra liberation is the Ultimate answer and the push continue till biafra is restored.
