Tinubu returns to Nigeria from London after three-month medical trip

The National Leader of All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, on Friday night, returned to Nigeria after spending over three months in London, the United Kingdom, Evritinnaija has learnt.

Our correspondent gathered from sources at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport that the ex-Lagos governor arrived at the Lagos airport on Friday night.

Another source close to the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, also confirmed the arrival of Tinubu in a chat with our correspondent.

Tinubu’s health has been a subject of controversy of late. The two-term Lagos governor was reported to have undergone knee surgery in London.

At least over 30 politicians had visited him in London in the last three months.

Notably amongst the politicians include the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.); Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Umar Ganduje (Kano), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti), and Rotimi Akeredolu (Ondo).

Also, members of the House of Representatives from the north led by Deputy Speaker, Ahmed Wase, visited the APC chieftain last week and endorsed his candidacy for the 2023 presidency.

Sanwo-Olu and other party chieftains in Lagos on Thursday also launched South-West Agenda 2023, a political movement mobilising support for Tinubu to contest the 2023 presidential election.

Though Tinubu has yet to declare his intention to contest any office in 2023, there have been reports and veiled indications that he might be interested in the exalted seat.

Tinubu, who celebrated his 69th birthday in March 2021, commands an arguably large following of political loyalists.
