Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, is among the 11 aspirants that lost the presidential primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar. Atiku defeated the eleven PDP presidential aspirants after scoring 1, 532 votes against his closes rival, Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state, who got 693 votes. Votes garnered by the other aspirants are: Abubakar Bukola Saraki (317), Rabiu Kwankwaso (158), Ibrahim Dankwambo (111), Sule lamido (96), Ahmed Markarfi (74), Attahiru Bafarawa (48), David Mark (35), Jonah Jang (19), Datti Baba Ahmed (05) and Kabiru Tanimu Turaki (68). Presidential primary: Poll adjudged Atiku best candidate to defeat Buhari  Former vice president of Nigeria and presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has been adjudged as the best candidate to defeat President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2019 presidential election. In an online Twitter poll conducted by @PDP_RIVERS, Atiku Abubakar, trounced Senate President Bukola Saraki, governor of Sokoto state Aminu Tambuwal and former governor of Kano state Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso.
