Ayodele Fayose, granted bail in the sum of N50 million.

Ayodele Fayose, former Governor of Ekiti State, has been granted bail in the sum of N50 million. His second appearance before the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Wednesday, lasted less than 30 minutes. He was also asked to provide a surety who must have landed property in Lagos. The guarantor is also required to have three-year tax clearance in Lagos. Fayose was arraigned before Justice Mojisola Olatoregun by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on charges of corruption. He arrived at the court premises on Wednesday around 9am, escorted by armed security operatives and officials of the EFCC. Fayose is facing an 11-count charge bothering on receiving illegal monies to fund his 2014 governorship campaign in Ekiti State, among other allegations of benefitting from proceeds of money laundering. Education that can’t create jobs is useless –Ngige

The Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, says education that is not directed towards job creation is useless. Ngige, therefore, said there was a need for schools to revise their current curricular to reflect modern challenges and development, according to a statement by the Director of Press at the Ministry of Labour, Samuel Olowookere. The minister said this in Abuja on Tuesday while addressing a breakfast session of the ongoing National Economic Summit (#24) in Abuja with the theme, ‘Multi-Sectoral Roundtable on Job Creation and Skills Development in Nigeria’. He said, “With a working population of over 80 million, the majority of who are unemployed, we have to do something radical, the narrative must change. Nwabueze disagrees with Nnamdi Kanu on boycott of 2019 elections

LEGAL Icon and chairman of the Igbo Leaders of Thought, ILT, Professor Ben Nwabueze, SAN, has cautioned against the boycott of the 2019 elections to avert a costly mistake. Some groups in the South-East including the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, have been canvassing a boycott of the election in the South-East and South-South geo-political zones to press home their demand for the Republic of Biafra through a referendum. Leader of the IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, in his broadcast on Radio Biafra, London, on Sunday restated his call for the Igbo to boycott the election. He said among other things that IPOB is not interested in anything else other than for the government to set a date for a referendum. Nnamdi Kanu not in Jerusalem, says Israeli govt

THE Israeli government, yesterday, said there was no evidence of the appearance of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPoB, Nnamdi Kanu in Israel. The Israeli government said the pictures and videos showing Nnamdi Kanu praying in Israel could be old. Speaking during an interaction with some African journalists in Jerusalem, the spokesman of the Israeli Foreign Ministry, Mr Emmanuel Nashon said there was no evidence that the leader of IPoB was in their country of recent. “There are no details about his recent visit to this country yet,” Nashon said adding that the pictures and videos could be old ones.
