The Yoruba Socio-Political group, Afenifere on Tuesday “condemned” the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo over a recent comment attributed to him saying that the kidnapping stories in Nigeria are exaggerated n the country and sponsored by politics. Osinbajo who is currently in the United States, reportedly made the statement while speaking with members of the Nigerian community during a town hall meeting in New York on Sunday. The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the last general election, Atiku Abubakar has said that the presidential election tribunal did not turn down his request to inspect the server of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The former vice president said this while reacting to a statement from a presidential spokesperson which said that the decision of the tribunal is a “victory against propaganda”. Atiku, however, clarified that the tribunal only held that this stage of hearing is not a good time to seek such request. A 27-year old man has been arrested by the police for allegedly selling his 3-day old baby boy after lying to his wife that the baby died after delivery in Ozubulu, Ekwusigo local government area of Anambra State. The baby was reportedly sold to Mrs Anulika Okafor, a native of Uruokwe village, Ozubulu. The police spokesperson, Haruna Mohammed, who confirmed the incident, said the three suspects have been arrested while the baby has been recovered. The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has vowed to challenge, at the Supreme Court, the dismissal of their application to be granted access to inspect the central server allegedly used by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to transmit results of the last general election. Recall that the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal had earlier ruled in a unanimous decision that the request could not be granted since the issue of whether such central server existed or not, is already a subject of controversy in the substantive petition that is challenging President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election.
