Ikechukwu Aduba, the Senior Special Assistant to Anambra State Governor on Vigilante Matters, has warned Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, MACBAN, against establishing vigilante group in the state. Aduba, who is the state’s Chairman of Vigilante Supervisory Committee, said the state would apply legal means to stop MACBAN should they establish vigilante group in the state and in South East in general. He spoke in Onitsha during the funeral ceremony of Chief Anthony Iwenjiora, father-in-law to the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, has claimed that Nigeria is still one country, because “God is a Nigerian”. Obasanjo, speaking at the international conference organised at Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, however, warned that the country was fast losing its identity over what he termed “poor management of the nation’s diversity.” The conference which had in attendance the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo and Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun, had the theme: “Religion, the state and global politics”. A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos on Monday ordered the final forfeiture of the 8.4 million dollars and N7.4 billion found in accounts linked to a former First Lady, Patience Jonathan. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had sought a final forfeiture of the sums found in various accounts linked to the former first lady. EFCC had secured an interim order for forfeiture of the sums on April 20, 2018 before Justice Mojisola Olatoregun, following a motion exparte. Joined in the suit as respondents are: Patience Jonathan, Globus Integrated Services Ltd, Finchley Top Homes Ltd., Am-Pm Global Network Ltd, Pagmat Oil and Gas Ltd and Magel Resort Ltd and Esther Oba, younger sister to Mrs Jonathan. EFCC counsel, Mr Rotimi Oyedepo, had on Oct. 29, 2018, moved his motion for final forfeiture of the sums to the Federal Government. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate in the 2019 presidential election, Atiku Abubakar, have told the Supreme Court to allow them access to a server purportedly used by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to transmit Nigeria’s 2019 presidential election results. Atiku is insisting that he defeated    President Muhammadu Buhari at the polls, going by the results allegedly got from the said central server allegedly owned and deployed for the elections by INEC. Atiku and the PDP, in the notice of appeal, are contesting the tribunal’s ruling on four grounds. A former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has reacted to the announcement by Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) to step down as senior pastor of the church for now. Pastor Fatoyinbo following allegations by Busola Dakolo, wife of singer Timi Dakolo, that she raped her as a teenager while growing up in Ilorin, Kwara state. Although Fatoyinbo had denied the allegation and even threatened a lawsuit, he announced via his Instagram page on Monday, his decision to “take a leave of absence of the pulpit” — After due consultations with his spiritual leaders worldwide. The Federal Government on Sunday strove to convince residents in some parts of the country about the RUGA settlement project for herdsmen. The Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, said the controversial Ruga settlements being initiated by the Federal Government was not meant to serve the interest of the Fulani ethnic group alone. The Presidency also stated that Ruga was “voluntary”, saying that no state was forced to give up land for the project.
