Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has declared his intention to run for a senatorial seat at the expiration of his second term. The All Progressives Congress (APC) said he would he running for the Imo West senatorial district in 2019. However, he said he decided to run for the seat to prevent “bad people” from taking over the position. The Imo West senatorial seat is currently being occupied by Senator Hope Uzodinma of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Okorocha said his initial intention was to gun for the presidency but he decided to step down the ambition to enable President Muhammadu Buhari secure and complete his second term. There was a mild drama at the Senate on Tuesday over the National Executive Council meeting of the All Progressives Congress held in Abuja. Members of the minority Peoples Democratic Party mocked the APC over the current crises in the ruling party at the national level and in some states. Enugu – The leaderships of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, and the Movement for the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, have apologized to the leaders of the Eastern Consultative Assembly, ECA, over the disruption of their programme in Enugu, Tuesday. Reliable sources told Vanguard in Enugu Wednesday that both IPOB and MASSOB leaders made separate telephone calls to the convener of the ECA meeting where the issue of restructuring of the country was to be discussed, with the awards to prominent eastern leaders as highlight of the occasion. The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has broken into factions, with loyalists of national leader, Bola Tinubu leading a new group called the Broom United Movement (BUM). The development came barely two weeks after Tinubu started his assignment as head of the reconciliation committee of the party. The splinter group, at its inaugural meeting which took place at the Absolute Lagos Lounge of the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club on Tuesday, accused leadership of the party in Lagos of engaging in “illegalities, manipulation and marginalisation” against members. Sam Zadok, Brother to late Asaph Zadok, a former commissioner of Youth and Sports in Adamawa has been reportedly killed along Gwarinpa, Abuja by suspected herdsmen. It was learnt that six others were murdered alongside Sam Zadok. They were found with their eyes and vital organs cut off.  Kalla village near Kasuwar Magani in Kajuru local Government Area of Kaduna State on Tuesday evening. The incident occurred at about 5 p.m., according to residents. The village is about 7 kilometres from Kasuwar Magani community where a previous violence raged on Monday causing about 12 deaths. PREMIUM TIMES gathered that about 300 residents of Kalla ‎village are now squatting with relations and friends. Residents say a mob, consisting mostly of the youth, were seen going from house to house setting fire yesterday evening. Premium Times reported the outbreak of violence among the youth in Kasuwar Magani, over interfaith dating on Monday.
